—As I worked in an Early Childhood Classroom, the children in the classroom were transition from lunch to going home. Parents were in the way, children were up and moving around and throwing their lunch items away, getting their items to go home, just imagine the situation of the class at that time. I had a sub. One child dropped all his food in front of his father, the father did not say anything. The child began to cry looking at his food on the floor. My sub, went to over to him and bent down and said “Mijo, boys don’t cry.” Me, the lead teacher, heard and went over and said: “the children in this class are can express themselves how they need to. The child’s father still there and did not say anything. My sub, continued to assist the child and said children can express themselves. Once all parents left. We had a short meeting discussing the situation, my subs reaction, my reaction and reflected on our biases.
