Here are the problems I see:
1) The data should be real values, not percentages. In other words, 98% = 0.98, etc.
2) The hypothesis test asks whether the average is significantly different from 1, since we assume things acting perfectly would be 100%. Based on what my numbers show me, t = -0.4955 and you probably are looking at something which IS basically a constant value of 1. (Fail to reject the null hypothesis)
3) You began by saying that this was a correlation study, but never did a correlation. It seems to me that ANY correlation study would examine:
a) the scatterplot to see if visually there is any pattern
b) if there IS a pattern, you would want to find the regression equation, use that to find predictions, and calculate the errors from your predictions, just to see whether you’ve correctly identified the type of regression equation.
None of this was actually introduced in the materials (correlation study). But, it would be better to at least explore it in this way.
