• Start by selecting a recent (within the last year) news article on a social, economic, or environmental justice. This could be a newspaper article, creditable blog, magazine piece, podcast episode, etc. Students should investigate the topic by reading scholarly resources.
• Create a presentation that covers:
o Definition and scope of the problem. Use scholarly sources, at least 6 academic sources should be used.
o Apply course concepts to the topic. This might include issues of justice, policy, oppression, or privilege.
o Apply concepts of the Afrocentric Perspective to your topic. Choose concepts from the school’s list. Consider the historical context and narrative.
o Discuss what is being done to address the issue and provide a critique. What is working, or not working? What would you like to see done? Is this feasible? Why or why not? Is there a call for work?
o All content presented should be written in APA 7th edition. [slides, posters, handouts, etc.]
